Vacation 2026

Well we finally made it. The vacation I had to get thru heart failure to get to. It’s started out a little rough, as we drove thru a torrential downpour the last 90 minutes of the drive, but it was worth it. The place is lovely, with porch areas in three different spots. Trees and hills as far as the eye can see, and plenty of wild life. My wife saw a coyote yesterday sitting on the porch.

We didn’t get to the cabin till after 6pm on Saturday, after the bad weather and a stop for groceries. Our oldest and their partner got the keys and were at the cabin when we got there. Our son and his girlfriend got there closer to 9. And our 23-year old is arriving in a couple hours.

Saturday I got to meet Dot, our oldest’s new puppy. Well, she’s 6 but looks like a pup. So cute. And so quiet. We made nachos Saturday night and enjoyed some drinks.

Sunday it rained and was overcast most of the day. Had breakfast and then just hung out for a bit. Played some pool and had some beers. I grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, along with some roasted green beans and corn on the cob. We started a fire and ate around the camp fire.

As for today, we might hit a trail and possibly go to downtown Nashville once our daughter shows up.

So far, so good.
