Going to close out my 2024 coverage on this Friday, January 3rd with just a list of movies seen and books read. We really dig into 2025 next week, but for now I’m rounding out all the movies and books I’ve enjoyed this past year. Nothing fancy, just lists. More lists and lists and Liszts and lists. No lisps, though.
In no particular order, but if it’s on here I enjoyed it tremendously. And yes, Longlegs is probably my favorite movie of 2024. I also really loved I Saw The TV Glow, Cuckoo, Adam Sandler : Love You, It’s What’s Inside, V/H/S Beyond, Fall Guy, Nosferatu, Azrael, and Oddity. So I guess those would make my top 10.
Movies:
- Longlegs
- Cuckoo
- It’s What’s Inside
- Stream
- Terrifier 3
- V/H/S Beyond
- Azrael
- Smile 2
- Oddity
- In A Violent Nature
- Adam Sandler : Love You
- Kinds of Kindness
- I Saw The TV Glow
- Tarot
- Civil War
- Deadpool VS Wolverine
- A Quiet Place : Day One
- Drive-Away Dolls
- The Deliverance
- Arcadian
- Deer Camp ’86
- Fall Guy
- Nosferatu
- Black Cab
- Will & Harper
- Late Night With The Devil
I got through a lot of books, but I didn’t make a list of what I read this year(like I have the last two years), so my old-ish brain might not have remembered them all. But here’s what I can remember(I re-read and caught up on a lot of Stephen King that I never got around to reading.)
I’m hoping 2025 will be a lot more biographies, independent horror, and memoirs. Just started Geddy Lee’s My Effin’ Life and so far I’m loving it.
- Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King
- Needful Things by Stephen King
- Gerald’s Game by Stephen King
- The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King
- The Shining by Stephen King
- Christine by Stephen King
- On Writing by Stephen King
- A Girl In A Band : A Memoir by Kim Gordon
- The Big Love : Life & Death with Bill Evans by Laurie Verchomin
- Mouth by Joshua Hull
- The Troop by Nick Cutter
- Salem’s Lot by Stephen King
- The Day Of The Door by Laurel Hightower
Compared to 2023 this seems pretty sparse(25 books read in 2023!), but I got through a lot of other things like anxiety, existential dread, sadness, and just goofy fun!
Goodbye 2024, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!
