Men From S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Return IN March With ‘Magnetic Sunshine’; Listen To Lead Single “La Séance”

Switzerland’s Men From S.P.E.C.T.R.E. have vibrated into our timeline via some mid-to-late 60s ethereal slipstream. Locking into serious grooves that could just as easily be heard emanating from some underground club in 1967 or from some psychedelic 007 flick, these Men From S.P.E.C.T.R.E. know how to groove a bongo and engage a fuzz pedal.

And they rock a Hammond B-3 like Jimmy Smith on Psilocybin.

The band’s latest, the far out and groovy Magnetic Sunshine is arriving next month on the always excellent Library Of The Occult. The 8 track Magnetic Sunshine is a psychedelic acid trip of soul-heavy rock mixed with touches of Krautrock, prog rock, and plenty of nasty fuzzed-out guitar riffs to keep all you space cadets satiated.

Listening to this record you can hear equal parts Goblin, the scores of Lalo Schifrin, touches of early Uriah Heep, and even the work of Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. But the main component that carries this excellent record along is the vibe meld of 60s psych and soul and 70s prog journeys.

Today is the premiere of lead single “La Séance”, a Hammond-led barn burner echoing everything from Goblin to Ennio Morricone to the great Budos Band. But hang out for a couple minutes and Men From S.P.E.C.T.R.E turn the psychedelic undertones up to a proper freakout lather. “La Séance” is a tour-de-force in moody contemplation and soulful psychedelia.

Listen to “La Séance” exclusively right here. Men From S.P.E.C.T.R.E.’s ‘Magnetic Sunshine’ arrives in March via Library Of The Occult.
