Causa Sui : Szabodelico

The world has been upside down and topsy turvy since the beginning of 2020. Health crisis, political turmoil, racial and civil unrest in city streets, and common sense being replaced by clickbait and conspiracy theories, the world seems to be in one hell of a sorry state. The one constant light throughout this year for […]

Tom Petty : Wildflowers & All The Rest

It really was Wildflowers that opened my brain up to the genius of Tom Petty. Sure, I grew up listening to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Lots of great songs and that work alone puts him up at the top of the rock and roll pedestal with the artists that influenced him in the first […]

Oneohtrix Point Never : Magic Oneohtrix Point Never

Daniel Lopatin has been world building as Oneohtrix Point Never for over a decade now. His albums started as drone and ambient vibe fests that brought to mind bleak science fiction and dystopian landscapes. Druggy, psychedelic musical experiments with old, battered synths, samplers, looping stations, and guitar pedals. As ramshackle as that sounds, those early […]

Stefan Bachmeier : The Strange Worlds Of Stefan Bachmeier

Who is Stefan Bachmeier? Where does he come from? Is he a time-traveling synthesist following portals to other dimensions leaving albums of wobbly, heady synth music for us to find in various decades and universes? Is he a world famous musician working under an alias, corrupting frontal lobes and right hemispheres of the minds of […]

Cruxible EP Drops November 6th; Listen To “Treeface”

If you’re a freak like me then you must worship at the alter of the dark electro project HVRGLOW. The three-piece electronic band released their debut album with Burning Witches Records back in 2018 and it completely blew my damn mind. It was a record filled with humid, slow-churning darkwave cuts that could easily fit […]

Causa Sui Returns November 13th With ‘Szabodelico’; Listen To “La Jolla”

It’s been almost three years since we’ve heard from Causa Sui, the Danish four-piece powerhouse that hail from Odense, Denmark. That album, 2017s Vibraciones Doradas, was a tight but heavy follow-up to the behemoth that was Return To Sky. Five tracks of hazy psych and heady rock that would end that year on a very […]

Rupert Lally : Where The Dark Speaks

When I was a kid Stephen King was a huge part of my adolescence. I had a King library at my disposal located in my mom and dad’s closet. Tucked away in the top shelf next to dad’s dress shoes and boxes of ancient Polaroids and Instamatic photos was a collection of tattered old paperbacks. […]

Jeff Tweedy : Love Is The King

I had a dream on the last night of our family vacation that I went to Chicago to see a Jeff Tweedy concert. But it wasn’t the usual show in a theater or auditorium. I went to the Tweedy home and was hanging out with Jeff, Sue, his sons Spencer and Sammy, as well as […]

Andy Fosberry : Blair, Maryland

We try to take a family vacation once a year, and quite a few of those vacations over the last ten years have been spent in the deep, sublime woods of Brown County located in southern Indiana. We just returned from that yearly jaunt, this year taking reprieve from the horrors of 2020 in the […]

Kuma : Time Makes Memory Of Us All

Kuma’s musical world on Time Makes Memory Of Us All is a curious one indeed. It feels as if Kuma, a Canadian producer/DJ, is opening a portal to some strange world that’s grappling with a fight between the organic and the synthetic. Moving away from his dubstep roots, Kuma dabbles in the world of ambient […]
