Vacation Time

Been a minute, I apologize. Wait, no I don’t. I’m on vacation you heathens.

Just kidding. I know you’re not all heathens. Last I checked in I was dealing with a fresh batch of pre-vacation Covid. Thankfully that is well on its way out. No fever since last Wednesday. Still dealing with some head congestion but that gets better everyday.

Back to cleaning the house in my OCD manner. Saturday we drove to Indianapolis so our son could pick up his new vehicle, a 2015 GMC Terrain. Great car; super clean, under 100,000 miles. And one-owner. Afterwards we got Detroit-style pizza with our oldest and their girlfriend.

Sunday I mowed for the first time of the year. Yesterday was my wife’s birthday. She spent the day thrifting with our middle kid. Afterwards they got home and I grilled burgers and dogs. We had ice cream cake for the birthday celebration.

I also bought some car cleaning supplies Monday. Washed and waxed my car, and afterwards spread weed n feed in the yard. Starting to look a lot like summer here.

Supposed to be storms later tonight, so that should help the weed n feed do its work.

I’m just really happy I’m on the mend. Had visions of a week and a half of me staring out the window as the world passes me by. Thankfully that’s not the case.

As for the rest of the week there’s plans strewn throughout. Hoping to get up to Lake Michigan for a good gawk at the water. I’m dog sitting my parents dog Max tomorrow. They’re getting a new HVAC system and mom is afraid Max will freak out. So since I had no plans I figured why not? Should be fun.

Picked up some new tunes today, currently spinning Kenny Burrell. Enjoying a Bell’s Oberon Wheat Ale.
