Bitter Cold Everywhere

It was another tragic and infuriating weekend here in the US. If you saw the news you would have heard about a 37-year old VA nurse who was unarmed by ICE, then as he lay on the ground after a mob of these so called “law enforcement officers” beat him, pepper sprayed him, and then forced him to the ground he was shot several times. He never pulled his weapon as it was tucked in his pants. He had a carry license, so he wasn’t breaking any law. In fact, he was there filming when a woman was violently pushed to the ground by ICE. He was trying to protect her by getting between these assholes and her. Everything was filmed and very clear in regards to the escalation by ICE. Several angles of the shooting were filmed via cell phones and there is no doubt as to what happened.

And yet, the administration and ICE stood in front of America and flat out lies about the situation. Blatantly gaslighting America and pulling from the Orwellian playbook telling us not to believe what is obvious in these videos. “He pulled a gun and waved it around”…”he tried to attack law enforcement”…”he was a domestic terrorist”….the same BS we heard about Renée Good.

As a citizen the only powers I have are in the voting booth in regards to making change here in the US. And I feel like from the chatter from the White House is that they want to change that. Pull our rights to vote them out. So we Americans that have been adamantly against the administration and Trump’s authoritarian stranglehold have to rely on politicians, federal lawyers, and the Supreme Court to make this right. Unfortunately I don’t feel they’re doing their jobs. Besides some strongly worded tweets I’ve seen no real action….which makes me feel like we’re being conned by the whole system.

Mostly, though, I just want people to stop being murdered in the streets just because Trump feels like he’s being disrespected. I think we’ll end up finding out this guy hasn’t been mentally competent for months, if not years. Yet he’s the perfect meat puppet for those dark, shadowy monsters that are pulling all the strings. The ones whispering sweet nothings in his ears and promising he can be the first to build a luxury hotel on the Gaza strip, or in Crimea. Or on the fucking moon.

Americans are being murdered in the streets of America because…because…why? At this point I’m too confused, exhausted, and horrified to figure it out. All I see are Americans protesting -arguably mostly non-violently- and they’re still being assaulted severely and even murdered by masked soldiers cosplaying Seal Team Six. Aren’t border patrol agents supposed to be at the border? Not going door to door in middle America grabbing brown people and murdering citizens?

None of this seems constitutional or legal. And then there’s all the blatant lying and false narratives.
